Cedric (1993)
The Nissan Cedric was remodeled as an electric vehicle based on the 4-door sedan “Classic.” With a lead-acid battery and AC motor, it offered a driving range of 85km on a single battery charge at a constant speed of 40km/h with air-conditioning turned off (maximum speed: 85km/h). In 1993, Nissan lent a Cedric EV to the Agency of the Environment, Government of Japan and was used by the Secretary of Air Conservation. Basic research on driving performance, economic performance and maintenance management were conducted for future extensive implementation of low-emission vehicles.
